At Vroom Grooms, safety is always our top priority — for your dog, for our groomer, and for our mobile grooming van. One issue we continue to run into is lawn care services happening during grooming appointments, and it’s time to address why this is a serious safety concern.
The Problem: Flying Debris + Grooming Van = Real Damage
When lawn crews are mowing, trimming, edging, or blowing debris, our grooming van is directly in the line of fire. We’ve had multiple incidents where the van has been struck by:
- Rocks
- Sticks
- Mulch
- Gravel
- Metal fragments
- High‑speed debris from trimmers and blowers
Even small pieces can hit the van with enough force to cause dents, cracks, or damage to equipment inside. And while the van can be repaired, your groomer cannot be replaced — and neither can your dog.
Why This Is a Safety Issue for Your Dog
Inside the van, your dog is being groomed with:
- Sharp tools
- Scissors and clippers
- High‑precision equipment
- A calm, controlled environment
A sudden impact to the van — even from outside — can startle a dog at the worst possible moment. That puts your pet at risk of:
- Jumping or jerking during grooming
- Accidental nicks or injuries
- Increased anxiety during future appointments
We work hard to create a peaceful, predictable grooming experience. Lawn equipment disrupts that completely.
Why This Is a Safety Issue for Your Groomer
Your groomer is focused on your dog’s safety. When the van is being hit by debris or surrounded by loud machinery, it becomes:
- Distracting
- Unsafe
- Stressful
- Risky for handling tools
Your groomer cannot safely work under those conditions.
Our Policy Moving Forward
To protect everyone involved, we cannot groom your dog if lawn care services are happening during your appointment time.
If lawn crews arrive unexpectedly:
- We may need to pause the groom
- We may need to move the van
- In some cases, we may need to end the appointment for safety reasons
- A rescheduling fee may apply if the appointment cannot be completed
How You Can Help
To keep your dog’s grooming day smooth and safe:
- Please avoid scheduling lawn care on the same day as grooming
- If your lawn crew comes on a set day, let us know so we can avoid it
- If they arrive unexpectedly, please notify us immediately
- Make sure the driveway and surrounding area are clear of active yard work
A calm environment = a safe groom.
Thank You for Helping Us Protect Your Pets
We truly appreciate your cooperation. Our goal is always to provide the safest, most stress‑free grooming experience possible — and keeping the van out of the path of flying debris is a big part of that.
