Vroom Grooms LLC is growing, and I’m looking for a professional dog groomer to join the team. If you love working with dogs, want to skip the salon chaos, and like the idea of one-on-one appointments in a fully self-contained mobile van, keep reading.
This is a mobile grooming position serving clients across Northwest Ohio. That means you work out of the van, you drive to the client’s home, and you do the full appointment start to finish. No drop-offs, no crate room full of barking dogs, no rushing between four appointments at once. Just you, the dog, and the work in front of you. Mobile Dog Grooming. We come to you. No hook ups needed!
🐾 What the Job Looks Like
A full groom with us is the whole package: bath, blow dry with a high-velocity dryer (adjustable speed for whatever the coat needs), nail trim, ear cleaning, haircut or de-shed, teeth brushing, and anal glands when needed. You arrive, you set up, you do the work, the dog goes home looking and feeling great. Most appointments run about two hours. You might see four to six dogs on a full day, depending on the route.
You’ll work across all coat types — short coats, double coats, curly coats, long flowing coats. Some dogs are angels. Some have opinions. You’ll need to be comfortable reading the dog in front of you and adjusting your approach on the fly.
✂️ What I’m Looking For
- Professional grooming experience, preferably two years or more. I can train on my setup and my process. I can’t train patience, a steady hand, or the kind of instinct you only get from working on a lot of dogs.
- Comfort working independently in a mobile setup. This is not a salon. You’re driving, you’re setting up, you’re handling the dog, you’re cleaning the van between appointments. Self-sufficiency matters.
- Calm with dogs of all sizes and temperaments. Big dogs, small dogs, seniors, puppies, anxious dogs, the wiggle-butts, the ones who act tough. You have to genuinely like dogs in all their moods.
- Reliability and good communication. Clients book months in advance. The schedule has to hold. If something changes, I need to hear about it in writing and in time to adjust — no surprises.
- A professional, humane approach to grooming. I run my business on Humanity over Vanity. I won’t shave a Husky because the owner wants a “summer cut.” I won’t push a matted dog into a stressful session, all costs are listed on our website for clients to view at all times along with Terms and Policies so there is no surprise in cost. If that philosophy fits how you already work, we’ll get along great.
📸 What to Send Me
Send everything to [email protected] with the subject line “Groomer Application — [Your Name]” so it doesn’t get lost.
Please include:
- Your resume — work history, certifications, any continuing education, breeds or coat types you specialize in.
- A portfolio of your work — before and after photos if you have them. Real dogs, real grooms, no filters. I want to see what your finished work actually looks like on the dog, not what it looks like on Instagram.
- A few paragraphs telling me about yourself — who you are, why you want to do mobile, what kind of dogs you love working with, and anything else you want me to know. Don’t worry about being fancy. I just want to hear from you in your own words.
💙 A Little About Working With Vroom Grooms
Vroom Grooms is a one-woman operation that has grown into a small mobile grooming business serving clients across Northwest Ohio. I built it on transparency — full pricing up front, no surprise fees, honest conversations about coat condition, and a humane approach to every dog that climbs into the van. I stream a lot of the work live on Twitch at DogGroomerNicole because I think owners should see what real grooming looks like, and because I want other groomers and curious dog owners to learn alongside me.
If that sounds like the kind of place you’d want to work, I’d love to hear from you.
Reach out at [email protected]. I read everything that comes in.
Stay fresh and furry,
Nicole
