Happy Friday, everyone! We wrapped up another fantastic week in the mobile salon with a lineup full of personality. Sometimes the dogs are perfectly zen for their spa day, and sometimes… well, sometimes they have other plans. Today was definitely a day full of opinions and acrobatics in the van!
Here is the rundown of today’s furry clients:
🐶 Anoush & Vito (The Australian Shepherds)
We kicked off the day with a gorgeous, but very opinionated, pair of Aussies.
First up was Anoush, who played her absolute favorite game with me: The Disappearing Feet Trick. As usual, she firmly believes that if she tucks her paws completely out of sight and pretends they don’t exist, she can skip the nail trim entirely. Nice try, sweet girl, but we still got those toes tidied up!
Her brother Vito, on the other hand, didn’t bother hiding. He chose a much more direct approach and just told me exactly how he felt about the whole situation. He was highly vocal the entire groom, letting me know in no uncertain terms that he did not want to be in the tub, on the table, or participating in any grooming activities whatsoever. We got them both lathered up in some of our calming, eco-friendly organic shampoos to try to make the process as soothing as possible, and they both went home looking (and smelling) fabulous, regardless of Vito’s complaints!
🐺 Ice (The Husky)
Next up was a handsome older gentleman named Ice. Now, Ice might be a senior Husky, but please don’t tell him that. In his mind, he is a certified superhero.
Throughout his entire de-shedding treatment, this old boy was fully convinced he was Spider-Man. He was ready to just leap from the grooming table at any given moment! I had to keep a very close eye (and a very secure hand) on him to remind him that gravity is, in fact, real and that we don’t do unassisted base-jumping in the grooming van. After a lot of brushing and a snowstorm of undercoat, our resident superhero was looking sharp and ready for the weekend.
