Some days the van is a whirlwind of pups. Today was not that day — Bella made sure it didn’t need to be.
Bella the Mini Doodle
Bella was my only dog on the schedule today, and she made the most of having the place to herself. She came in with a thick, curly coat that needed real work — the kind you take in sections and stay patient with. It came out clean, and she stood for all of it.
We ran the full routine: ears checked, the tidy-up before the bath, then the feet. Her toes had collected a little something between the pads, which is one of those spots doodle owners know well. If it isn’t brushed out at home, it packs in there. We got it cleaned up one foot at a time. Come here, Bella. One more foot. She was a good girl for every single one.
Then the tub and the blowout. She came out of the dryer so fluffy it was almost funny, and she has the cutest little nose and the sweetest little teeth to go with it. I said it out loud more than once while she was up there: this dog is so stinking cute.
Bella is still a dog who is figuring out the spa day thing, and that is completely fine with me. If you have followed her story here, you already know the dryer used to be a whole production and the tub is still not her favorite place on earth. Today she handled both. That is what progress actually looks like — not a perfect dog, just a dog who trusts the routine a little more than she did last time.
One dog, one very good girl, and a van that smelled like clean doodle by the end of it. I will take that day every week.
