Three dogs, three very different versions of spa day. Argus brought the fluff, Oliver brought the tongue, and Sobe brought the patience. Here is how Friday went in the van!
Argus the Doodle
First up was Mr. Argus, and I call him that because he carries himself like a gentleman. He is a doodle with a thick gray curly coat, and he is one of my favorite dogs. He is also one of the fluffiest. I said it out loud more than once while he was up on the table — you are so fluffy right now, you are such a fluffy boy. We got his feet done one little bean at a time, and he was very good for all of it. He likes to keep an eye on everything I am doing, and he is not shy about telling me when I am in his way. He even sat through a full spider rescue in the middle of his groom. There was a spider in the van, I caught it to put it outside, and I told him to hold on — we were on spider rescue. He waited. Good boy.
Oliver the Havanese and Shih Tzu Mix
Next up was Oliver. He is a Havanese and Shih Tzu mix, and he is a black, shaggy little guy who spent most of his appointment with his tongue hanging out. I kept asking the chat what breed they thought he was, and I am still waiting on a ruling. Oliver is a good boy. That part is not up for debate.
Sobe
Last was Sobe, a small black and white girl who walked in ready to be sweet about it. Hi, baby girl. We started with her nails, because that is what I wanted to get done first with her, and she let me work. She was a good girl, Sobe, and she stayed easy on the table the whole way through. She is the kind of dog who makes the end of a full day feel like a nice way to finish.
Three dogs, one van, and a whole lot of fluff to sweep up at the end of it. That is the job, and I would not trade it.
