Three dogs today, and three completely different kinds of personality in the van. A Cavalier who brings the energy, a Labrador who has been part of my grooming family for years, and a Boston Terrier who is absolutely certain she runs the place. Here is a look at today’s pack.

Eevee the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
Eevee is the kind of small dog who fills the whole van with personality. She is a tricolor Cavalier, black and white with the tan markings over the eyes and cheeks, and she has the soft, silky Cavalier coat that goes with the breed. She has been a Vroom Grooms client for a while now, and she makes the appointment fun from start to finish.
Eevee was a trooper through the whole thing, and she is one of those dogs who is genuinely interested in everything happening around her. Cavaliers are spaniels underneath the pretty face, and that shows up at the grooming table. Eevee is not passive. She is participating.
She finished up beautifully and went home to some well-earned treats and relaxation. That is the ultimate reward for a good girl.

Marshall the Labrador
Marshall is a big, lovable chocolate Labrador who has been part of my grooming family for many years. He fills the whole van the moment he steps in, and not just because he is a big guy. It is the presence. Marshall is friendly, expressive, and always ready to see what treats I brought along.
Like a lot of long-term friendships, we have learned each other’s quirks. His biggest one is nail trims. This sweet boy has opinions about his nails and he is not shy about sharing them. He gives a little grumble, a little side-eye, and a whole lot of dramatic flair, but never in a mean way. It is just his way of saying he is not thrilled about that part. So we take it slow. I talk him through it, give him breaks when he needs them, and let him know he is doing a great job.
Once the nails are done, Marshall is right back to his happy, tail-wagging self. He soaks up the warm bath, enjoys the blow-dry, and leans in for the little moments of affection that make grooming feel like bonding time. He is a reminder that patience and a pocket full of treats go a long way.

Charlie the Boston Terrier
Charlie is one of those dogs who shows up and the whole day gets a little easier. She has been coming to the van for a long time, and every visit she reminds me why I enjoy working with dogs who have been around the block a few times. She is a black and white Boston Terrier with a white blaze up the forehead, and her ears are permanently at attention.
Charlie knows exactly what is about to happen when the water warms up. She has opinions about the dryer, and she is happy to share them, gently, with her whole entire face. What I love about her is how patient she is with herself. She does not rush. She does not get dramatic. She just takes the appointment one step at a time.
She is also just very sweet. Chill, easy to handle, and when we are done she leans against my leg for a minute like she is thanking me without saying a word.

Three dogs, three coats, and a full day in the van. Thank you to all the wonderful pet parents who trust me with their best friends. I cannot wait to see who hops onto the grooming table next!
