Our Commitment to Safety — And Our Right to Discontinue Service

Every dog who steps into our grooming van is treated with patience, kindness, and respect. Their comfort and well‑being are always the top priority. As a one‑woman grooming business, I work hard to create a safe, calm environment where dogs can feel secure and cared for.

Because of this commitment, it’s important to be transparent about a policy that protects both your pet and the groomer:
We reserve the right to discontinue service at any time.

This isn’t a decision taken lightly — but there are situations where continuing a groom simply isn’t safe, ethical, or appropriate.

When a Groomer May Need to Stop a Service

🐶 1. When the Dog’s Condition Puts Them at Risk

If a dog arrives with severe matting, extreme anxiety, pain, illness, or any condition that makes grooming unsafe, the groomer may need to stop the service. Continuing could cause injury, stress, or trauma — and your dog’s well‑being always comes first.

✂️ 2. When a Requested Service Isn’t Safe

Sometimes an owner may request a style or service that isn’t appropriate for the dog’s coat, age, temperament, or physical condition. If the groomer feels uncomfortable performing the request because it could harm the dog, they have the right to decline or discontinue the service.

💛 3. When the Dog Becomes Too Stressed or Overwhelmed

Not every dog can tolerate a full groom in one session. If a pup becomes overly anxious, reactive, or physically distressed, stopping the groom is the safest option. A shorter, modified, or rescheduled session may be recommended.

🚫 4. When an Owner Behaves Unjustly or Disrespectfully

A safe grooming environment includes respect on all sides. If an owner behaves aggressively, speaks disrespectfully, ignores safety policies, or pressures the groomer to perform unsafe services, the groomer has the right to discontinue service immediately and decline future appointments.

Why This Policy Matters

This policy isn’t about inconvenience — it’s about safety, ethics, and compassion.
It ensures that:

  • Dogs are never pushed beyond their limits
  • Groomers can work safely and professionally
  • Services remain aligned with humane, responsible care
  • Everyone involved is treated with respect

A groomer’s job is hands‑on, physically demanding, and deeply rooted in trust. Protecting that trust is essential.

Thank You for Understanding

Most pet parents are incredibly supportive and understanding, and I’m grateful for the families who prioritize their dog’s comfort as much as I do. This policy simply ensures that every groom is handled with integrity, safety, and love — the way it should be.

If you ever have questions about what’s safe or appropriate for your dog, I’m always happy to talk through options and find the best path forward for their health and happiness.
