Vroom Grooms Dogs of the Day — Thursday, June 11th

Two pups in the van today, and a soft spot for both of them. Here is who I got to spend my day with.

🦖 Kobe the Golden Retriever

Kobe is a little anxious, and when he gets nervous he holds his lead in his mouth like a pacifier. I have seen it in a lot of dogs and it is one of the sweetest comfort behaviors out there. He did it the whole time he was getting settled, and the second he started to feel safe, the lead went down and the kisses came out.

And the kisses. Forehead kisses from a Golden Retriever is its own category of love. I was covered by the end of his groom. He is the sweetest boy, and I am not exaggerating.

Kobe: Sweet, soft, anxious in the best way. Holds his lead when he needs comfort. Gives forehead kisses when he trusts you. A total gentleman on the table.

🐾 Molly the Yorkie — New to the Pack!

I had a new pup join the pack today. Meet Molly, a little Yorkie lady with a collapsed trachea and a heart full of nerves.

Going slow and steady for a first groom is the only way to do it, and that is exactly what we did. Molly was not sure about getting her legs and feet handled, and she pulled away more than once. I let her, and we took our time. We did a little, took a break for loves and scratchies, did a little more, took another break. The whole spa day was built around what she could handle in the moment.

She was as sweet as can be through the whole thing. Yorkies with collapsed tracheas need extra care, and a first groom sets the tone for every groom after this one. We did it right today.

Molly: New to the pack, sweet as pie, a little unsure of the feet work. We went slow, gave plenty of scratchies, and got her through her first spa day. Welcome to Vroom Grooms, little lady.

💛 A Note from the Groomer

Days like this are the reason I love what I do. Kobe needed comfort and gave me kisses. Molly needed patience and gave me trust. Both of those are gifts, and I do not take either one for granted.

If you have a pup who is anxious, or who has never had a professional groom before, you can tell me about it ahead of time through the New Client Form note section, or text me at least 48 hours before your appointment. The more I know going in, the better I can plan the day around your dog.

Stay fresh and furry,
