Happy Friday, Northwest Ohio! The Vroom Grooms van has been rolling all day this August 21st, bringing eco-friendly pampering directly to some truly wonderful pups. It is always a joy to spend the day transforming these furry friends, and today’s lineup was as sweet as they come. For those who hung out with me live on Twitch to watch the process, you got to see the magic happen in real time, and your support for the stream and Folds of Honor means the world!

We kicked off the morning with Cole, a handsome Schnauzer who absolutely stole the show. Schnauzers are famous for their distinguished eyebrows and beards, which require precise, steady scissoring to achieve that classic, dignified expression. Grooming Tip: While Schnauzers traditionally have a wiry topcoat, many pet parents opt for a softer clipped coat for everyday comfort. Keeping that signature facial hair clean and brushed daily is essential, especially after mealtime, to prevent moisture and debris from causing skin irritation. Cole handled his organic suds-up like a total gentleman and stepped out of the van looking incredibly dapper.

Next up was Tucker, an impossibly sweet long-haired Dachshund with a fun twist! Unlike a typical straight coat, Tucker has wonderfully wavy, almost curly hair. To keep him comfortable and stylish, he gets a specialized shave down, but we leave his ears, his tail, and a super cool mohawk. Grooming Tip: Even when opting for a shorter, low-maintenance cut on a longer-haired breed, leaving signature features—like fluffy ears, a full tail, or an edgy mohawk—is a fantastic way to let their personality shine. Because his coat has that unique curl, using a high-quality, natural conditioner on those remaining longer sections is vital to keep his mohawk and tail from tangling. Tucker practically melted into the grooming table during his bath massage and left looking like a total rockstar.

We wrapped up this fantastic Friday with Kash the Doodle. Doodles are famous for their loving, goofy personalities, but their coats are always a unique adventure! Kash is the perfect example, sporting a highly individualized mixed-texture coat with some areas featuring tight curls and other spots that are wiry and wavy. Grooming Tip: Because a Doodle’s coat is so unique, this is exactly why time, breed, size, coat type, weight class, coat condition, and behavior are all factored into the price of a grooming session. To keep Kash perfectly comfortable and easily maintained, he received a full shave down today. Opting for a shorter, smooth clip is an excellent choice for a mixed-texture coat, as it prevents unpredictable matting and leaves the skin breathing easily. A little extra patience and some natural moisturizing spray left him sleek, happy, and smelling amazing for the weekend.

It is days like today that make being a solo mobile groomer the best job in the world. Thank you to everyone who trusts me with their beloved best friends. Have a wonderful, safe weekend with your four-legged family members, and remember to keep up with those daily brushings!
