What a wonderful Wednesday it was rolling across Northwest Ohio! Nicole had the absolute joy of spending the day with three very special pups, each with their own story to tell. From a sweet senior gentleman to a goofy boy on a treasure hunt and a brave lady recovering from some dental work, today was full of love, patience, and plenty of tail wags. Here is a look at the wonderful dogs who hopped into the Vroom Grooms van today.
Oscar the Maltese
First up in the van with Nicole was the handsome Oscar! This sweet boy is almost 17 years old, which makes him a truly rare and special guest to have on the grooming table. It is honestly amazing to get to work with a dog at this age, and Oscar is every bit as sweet as he looks. That gentle smile and those bright eyes say it all. Every senior pup I get to pamper is a gift, and Oscar is absolutely no exception.
Walter the Labrador Retriever
Next up was the one and only Walter! This handsome black Lab is always so excited to see Nicole when the van pulls up, and today was no different. Walter was even more excited to hop inside and start hunting for any treats that may have somehow found their way onto the floor. LOL! It is no secret that Walter would happily follow a dropped treat to the ends of the earth, and his big smile says he is already counting down the days until his next visit.
Chelsea the Golden Retriever
Last but certainly not least, we had the lovely Chelsea! This 9-year-old Golden Retriever lady had just recently had some dental work done and was not about to leave her IV spot alone. That little shaved patch on her leg is a great reminder for every pet parent out there: always keep an eye out for the signs of discomfort after any kind of procedure, even something as routine as a grooming visit.
If you ever notice your pet licking, scratching, or fussing with a spot more than usual, please let your pet’s care provider know right away. Even a small wound that looks fine on the surface could be hiding an underlying issue, and what seems like a simple scrape can quickly turn into an infection if it is not addressed. When in doubt, a quick message to your vet or your groomer can make all the difference in catching something early.
